Netiquette - Free Singles Chat
For Online Dating
By Matt D Fuller
Online dating and chat is popular but many
people are not totally sure of how they should behave when they chat. Chat
is considered a different medium, many of our common social rules apply
to chat although there can be some intriguing differences.
Act polite.
A lot of people abuse this faceless medium
and presume that it is acceptable to behave badly or ask impertinent questions.
It isn't ok. Just as in life, you will find people who like it but most
will not. The one good aspect though is that by behaving in such a way
you might just save someone the time in discovering that you are a jerk.
Respond to the questions.
Be certain to read online dating correspondence
- answer each question and be concise and straight to the issue. Long rambling
answers can be tiring however it is necessary to let your personality shine
through.
Spelling, Grammar, don't forget punctuation.
Spelling is very important unless you
want to come across as a high school dropout however good grammar and punctuation
is slightly less important than it is in daily correspondence. There are
many short ways of saying things online so it makes sense to use them -
for example - did you know the meaning LOL means "laughs out loud". Its
a fun way to let your online dating chat friend know that you are having
a joking with them.
Lets get Personal.
No-body wants to be treated just as a
number so be sure that you don't simply copy and paste chat from one window
to the next. You will get found out!
DO NOT SHOUT!
Did you realise that on the internet CAPITAL
LETTERS MEAN YOU ARE SHOUTING!! Stay away from the online headaches and
keep to the correct sentence case when you chat.
BCC -
If sending a mail to your latest online
dating chat sweetheart , then don't secretly bcc your best friend. Its
rude and just because its online, really personal conversations should
stay that way.
Refrain From Spamming.
So someone sends you their personal email
- don't start emailing them every joke that you have in your inbox. It
can be annoying for people who have a busy life- although if you know that
they love receiving chain emails - there are plenty out there in circulation.
Refrain From Being An Ignoramus.
Don't act libelous, be defamatory, come
across offensive, appear racist or make obscene remarks. It may come back
to get you.
Choose a good username - I don't know many
online dating users who want to chat to "miseryisme" or "suicidal"
Be yourself! try to relax, have fun and
try to stay true to yourself.
There are lots of rules here that are simply
common sense but it is surprising the number of people who lose their personality
and assume that of Mr/s Hyde once they come online. Chatting online should
be enjoyable for all concerned and if down the track your online date wishes
to join you for a little risque chat then you can proceed with this together
but make certain your relationship is well underway before you take that
step. [http://www.hookmeup.com.au]Singles Dating Chat [http://www.hookmeup.com.au]Free
